We Would Like YOUR Input!!

The City of Kingsport Office of Cultural Arts invites the Kingsport community to share input for a Public Art Master Plan.  The City’s public art program was created in 2006 and includes a ‘Percent for Art’ Ordinance and established a Public Art Committee.  The Committee created Sculpture Walk in 2007 and has annually exhibited contemporary outdoor sculpture for over 10 years.  Over the years, several sculptural pieces have been purchased or commissioned for Kingsport and more recently murals have been added to help celebrate the community.  In 2017, the Office of Cultural Arts organized two temporary public art installations, Humanae and Rise Together Kingsport.  Now it is time to work on a new plan of action, and the public is encouraged to fill out the attached survey.   A round table discussion will be held on Thursday May 10 at 4 PM in room 310 of the Kingsport Renaissance Center.

Beth Snapp 2018

Beth Snapp – ‘Don’t Apologize’ EP Release – Friday, August 31st!

‘Don’t Apologize’

Come hear the new songs by Beth Snapp.  Presented in conjunction with Kingsport Office of Cultural Arts, Beth Snapp and NewSong Music proudly present the official EP Release! Be ready for the first opportunity to purchase physical EP copies as well as other merch! Stay tuned for some new songs, and maybe a surprise or two!

Words straight from Beth “To me, this EP is a continuation of a journey. My second project was largely an account of just coming out of a storm. I had survived, I knew things were going to get better, but there was some healing and processing to be done. As time passed, and I did the work to heal, I emerged into a new place. I realized that surviving the storm wasn’t enough. I realized I was put on this Earth to do more than survive.”

We hope that you’ll join us!!
